Twitter COO replaces CEO

Twitter co-founder Evan Williams will hand the job of chief executive to Dick Costolo, the architect of Twitter's nascent marketing efforts, in a sign that making cash is really a top priority at the fast-growing Internet microblogging service.

Williams will focus totally on product strategy, efficient immediately, he wrote inside a post on the Internet company's official blog on Monday.

Qualcomm Suspends Flo TV

Qualcomm Inc is suspending direct consumer sales of its mobile television company and devices as it looks for strategic choices and plans lay-offs for its Flo Tv business, which has failed to take off.

The chip company, which built a network and set up the service to kick begin demand for mobile media services, said in July that it would examine its strategic choices for the business because of disappointing sales.

AT&T Inc, the No. 2 mobile service, plans to sell three smartphones from Motorola Inc based on Google Inc's Android software, potentially helping the phone maker depend less on Verizon Wireless, its most important U.S. customer.

The new devices, announced on Tuesday, are aimed at a wider, more cost-conscious audience than Motorola's flagship Droid X device, which Verizon Wireless sells for $200.
