Taiwan's HTC loses Apple patent infringement case in US

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has been contracted a huge blow in its lawful fight with Apple involving patent encroachment alleges. The United States ITC (International Trade Commission) has lined that Apple didn’t infringe patents as alleged by HTC in a complaint lodged previous year.

HTC had requested the court to prohibit imports of various Apple items in to the United States citing patent infractions. HTC's shares chop down by six percent after the ruling. The case associated 4 patents held by HTC associated to shielding data, storing contact info and managing the phone's power supply.

The judgment is one more setback for HTC which is implicated in a long and bitter fight with Apple. In July this year, the Taiwanese phone manufacturer was found to have violated 2 iPhone patents in a case filed by Apple at the ITC.

Nevertheless, HTC whispered that in spite of the judgment, it was sticking to its claims. "This is one stair of many in these lawful proceedings. We’re confident we’ve a good case for the ITC appeals procedure and are wholly prepared to shield our intellectual assets," whispered Grace Lei, HTC's general counsel.

We look ahead to solving this case, so we can carry on creating the most inventive mobile experiences for customers." A full commission of the ITC is anticipated to decide in February, whether to reject or uphold the judge's verdict.
