Michael Page Sees Substantial Profits Because of Growth in South America and AsiaMichael Page International Plc, the United Kingdom’s second-largest recruitment firm, said third-quarter gross profit rose by a healthy 37%, thanks to the permanent placements and growth in South America.

Third-quarter gross profit was £112.7 million ($179 million), the London-based company said in a recent press statement. The company also mentioned that permanent placement gross profit gained by an astonishing 50%, to £87.8 million. Michael Page has also started offices in Chile and two in Brazil since the end of June, CEO Steve Ingham announced.

La Plata to award US$25million Waste management plant in Argentina

The municipal government of Argentina's Buenos Aires province capital La Plata aims to award a project to build a solid waste treatment plant by end-November, La Plata's environment agency president Sergio Federovisky told BNamericas.

The undertaking, valued at US$25mn-30mn, involves developing a spend management system that is expected to significantly improve the quantity of spend being recycled in La Plata, which currently produces 600t/d of spend.
